PALEOEKOLOGI DAN PALEOIKLIM DAERAH TANJUNG JABUNG BARAT, JAMBI

Abstract


Lintasan Oligosen-Miosen yang tersingkap di Lintasan Stratigrafi Lubuk Lawas dan Lubuk Bernai di Bukit Tigapuluh, Subcekungan Jambi, Indonesia, mengarsipkan sisa-sisa vegetasi khatulistiwa pada saat pemanasan global yang ekstrem dan mendekati permulaan tumbukan mikrokontinen Jawa Timur-Eurasia, diteliti dengan menggunakan pemetaan permukaan, stratigrafi dan palinologi.  ingkungan pengendapan berubah dari waktu ke waktu, melewati dari cekungan tektonik yang sempit dan bersisi curam, selama Oligosen Awal hingga Akhir, diikuti oleh suatu cekungan lakustrin hingga palustrin dengan pengaruh lautan, sebagai akibat dari pergerakan distensif E-W antara Sesar Jambi dan Sesar Sunda di Oligosen Akhir hingga Miosen Tengah.Variasi fosil polen penentu ekologi dan iklim masa lalu berkembang Palynomorph Marine, Palynomorph Continental
dengan sublingkungan Mangrove-Backmangrove, Peat Swamp, Freshwater Swamp, Freshwater Algae, Riparian dan Montane. Terjadinya serbuk sari angiosperma yang sangat beragam secara taksonomi di ketiga zona palinologi membuktikan flora tropis daratan dan dekat pantai yang sangat kaya di bawah rezim curah hujan musiman yang kuat. Iklim tetap hangat dan menjadi semakin lembab menjelang akhir Miosen.
