PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN SURFAKTAN STEARIL-ISOPROPIL-ALGINAT (SIA) PADA PENGENCERAN TINTA KOMERSIL DI PT. TRYUASDA MEGAH WARNA

Abstract

The problem of inhomogeneity of the mixture in formulating the ink can cause failure in the screen printing process because it produces uneven printing results and the ink layer breaks. In addition, the inhomogeneity of the ink causes deposits at the bottom of the tank so that if the ink is to be used it must be stirred first. To mix ink with a large volume requires energy or additional costs that are large enough to reduce profits. The solution to the problem offered by the community service team of UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta is to replace the Sodium polyacrylate emulsifier with an emulsifier that is compatible with water solvents. The emulsifier is Stearyl-Isopropyl-Alginate (SIA) biosurfactant. With the method of mentoring and experimentation in the ink dilution laboratory using biosurfactants SIA can be a solution to the inhomogeneity of ink dilution, increasing profits and being environmentally friendly. The result of the best dilution by volume ratio (Ink: SIA Biosurfactant) is shown by 1:0,05.
