Abstract

Information about geoheritage is a part of thematic geospatial information whose benefits will increase if the local community knows and understands the geological conditions in their village more clearly. The problem in Gununggajah Village is that the inventory data of thematic geospatial information in Gununggajah Village is still in manuscript form, not yet freely accessible, and not easily understood by the local community. This condition makes the community unaware that their residential area has unique geological characteristics that are only found in a few places on the island of Java. Therefore, to enhance the knowledge and understanding of the community about the conditions of their village, a technological innovation is needed that can improve the dissemination of thematic geospatial information to the community in a more attractive, interactive, and user-friendly way. Story maps are one of the web-based map visualization media and narrative texts that allow the map to be displayed not only visually but also to tell a story about the theme being raised, including geological conditions and its unique characteristics. With story maps as a medium for disseminating thematic geospatial information, the level of understanding of the Gununggajah Village community about the conditions in their village will increase.
