The youth and adolescents of RT 69, Metes, Argorejo, Sedayu, Bantul, and Yogyakarta, have organized themselves under the group ROMANSA, which has conducted various social, sports, religious, and environmental activities, including the establishment of a waste bank to manage household waste. However, they have not yet addressed the disposal of waste cooking oil (WCO), which poses environmental and health hazards. To tackle this, the Community Service Program (PbM-U) aims to enhance the role of the waste bank in managing waste cooking oil by involving youth in its operations. ROMANSA’s WCO Bank will transform the oil into useful products such as soap, candles, and other items that can be used to reduce living costs or sold for additional income. The PbM-U program includes workshops and hands-on product creation. Participants showed high enthusiasm and active involvement throughout the program. Feedback collected via questionnaires revealed that establishing the waste cooking oil Bank is highly beneficial to the community. The participants found the PbM-U activities valuable, producing marketable products, and expressed willingness to continue making these products independently, either for personal use or sale.
