Focus and Scope

The topics discussed in Journal of Metallurgical Engineering and Processing Technology are research & development results in:

a. Mineral Processing

Mineral Process Engineering is concerned with the process of separating valuable minerals from their tailing. The raw materials produced by mining are highly impure and must be improved in quality before they can be used by society.

b. Extractive Metallurgy

Extractive metallurgy is a large branch of the field of metallurgy that deals with removing valuable metals from an ore and refining the extracted raw metals into a purer form. Three primary streams in extractive metallurgy are hydrometallurgy, pyrometallurgy, and electrometallurgy.

c. Physical metallurgy

Physical metallurgy is a field of study within metallurgy where the focus is on the physical properties and structure of metals and alloys. It is important to know the effect of for instance the chemical composition, heat treatment and production process on the final component in order to achieve components with optimal properties. This field of expertise comprise all the steps from solidification to final product.

Publication Ethics

The researcher's code of ethics is a moral reference for researchers in researching the development of science and technology for humanity. This is a form of dedication and social responsibility and devotion to God Almighty following the Regulation of the Head of LIPI Number 06/E/2013 concerning the Research Code of Ethics.

Researchers who are proven legally to have violated the ethics of researchers are dismissed from their positions as researchers. Provisions regarding violations of researcher ethics are further regulated through the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 06 / E / 2013 concerning Research Code of Ethics and Head of LIPI Regulation Number 08/E/2013 concerning Guidelines for Research Ethics Clearance and Scientific Publications.
