Dunia telah beralih dari era industrialisasi ke era informasi yang kemudian melahirkan information society (masyarakat informasi). Dalam aktivitas kehidupan masyarakat informasi, teknologi merupakan aspek paling vital dalam menuntaskan dan memudahkan berbagai persoalan kehidupan. Masyarakat Indonesia telah dapat dikategorikan sebagai masyarakat informasi, karena masyarakat Indonesia tidak dapat melepaskan diri dan aktivitasnya dari penggunaan beragam penggunaan teknologi termasuk teknologi komunikasi dan informasi. Dalam era kecanggihan teknologi, masyarakat tidak hanya penting mengetahui jenis media dan berbagai teknologi yang melingkupinya, melainkan perlu pula memahami dengan baik bagaimana penggunaan teknologi tersebut secara optimal, efisien, dan berdaya guna sehingga pesan-pesan yang ingin disampaikan kepada masyarakat mad’u (khalayak) dapat direspon dengan baik dan tepat sasaran. Tulisan ini mengupas dinamika komunikasi Islami yang terjadi di media online. Media online telah menjadi semacam oasis dakwah Islam kontemporer, namun dalam beberapa content (isi) materi dakwah tidak memberi informasi yang bersifat Islami.References
