Tema-Tema Fantasi dalam Komunikasi Kelompok Muslim-Tionghoa

Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui komunikasi antarbudaya mempengaruhi pandangan dunia etnis Tionghoa dan pribumi di kota Medan. Tiga elemen pandangan dunia yang diteliti meliputi agama atau kepercayaan, nilai-nilai dan perilaku, yang merupakan bagian dari teori persepsi budaya menurut Larry A.Samovar, Richard E.Porter dan Edwin R.McDaniel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan fenomenologi yang bertujuan melihat berbagai situasi atau realitas sosial yang berlaku terhadap etnis Tionghoa dan pribumi di kota Medan. Penelitian menggunakan wawancara mendalam terhadap sejumlah informan etnis Tionghoa dan pribumi. Selain itu, pemerhatian dan analisis kepustakaan yang berhubungan dengan penelitian ini. Analisis data ditulis dalam bentuk naratif induktif. Hasil penting penelitian menunjukkan bahwa agama atau kepercayaan merupakan satu yang hak dan tidak dapat dipaksa. Namun melalui perkawinan antara etnis Tionghoa dan pribumi maka terjadinya perpindahan agama kepada Islam dan Kristen sehingga pandangan keagamaanpun berubah. Selain itu, komunikasi antarbudaya dapat mengubah cara pandang terhadap nilai-nilai budaya Tionghoa dan Pribumi di kota Medan. Dengan demikian mendorong perilaku individu menjadi positif dan sekaligus pandangan dunianya.References
