PENDAMPINGAN PENGELOLAAN SAMPAH MANDIRI MENGGUNAKAN KONSEP THERMAL INSINERASI DI DESA KEBAKALAN KECAMATAN KARANGGAYAM KEBUMEN JAWA TENGAH
Abstract
The problem of waste does not only occur in urban areas, even now it has spread to rural areas. Waste management in rural areas is usually carried out by burying, burning, and disposing of it in air channels/vacant land, causing negative impacts. Thermal conversion can be defined as the conversion of waste into gases, liquids, and products in solid form, simultaneously or subsequently releasing heat energy. The thermal conversion process is a process that occurs at relatively high temperatures which causes modifications in the chemical structure of the studied materials. The village of immortality is one of the villages located in Karanggayam District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java with a population of ± 3000 people (Kebumen in 2020 figures). Like the problems that occur in other villages in Indonesia, namely waste management. The behavior of people who still throw garbage. Household waste generated by residents a day reaches 2 to 3 tons per day. The level of awareness of community behavior is still low and the lack of waste management facilities in Kebakalan Village has made the Young Berkarya Youth Group try to find innovative solutions by planning the manufacture of waste management tools based on thermal incineration. The resulting tool still needs to be improved because there is still a problem of incomplete solid waste and its appearance in the main room. The Community Service Team (PbM) of UPN Veteran Yogyakarta as a partner of Kebakalan Village recommends enriching the oxygen in the device with the oxy-fuel technique and creating additional space to eliminate the effects of solid waste (coal) in the primary chamber.
