Pelatihan Dan Bimbingan Pembuatan Packaging Gerit Jagung Pada Masyarakat Dusun Petungsewu Desa Duwet Kecamatan Tumpang Kabupaten Malang
Abstract
Corn is a plant that provides numerous benefits to humans. Gerit/corn powder, one of the corn derivative products, can be used as a rice substitute as well as a raw material for flour substitutes. So far, the gerit product has only been sold to a small number of people, and the packaging is only done with ordinary plastic, which reduces the useful life of corn. Based on these issues, we, the Community Service Team (PKM) Department of Commerce Administration, State Polytechnic of Malang, provide training on how to make gerit packaging in order for this gerit product to have added value while also increasing the useful life of the product. The training provided includes instruction on how to make plastic-based packaging, packaging covers, and the packaging process using sealers. The women-community of Duwet village understands the training process and appreciated the training in packaging. The next step is to assist the object in carrying out packaging in accordance with applicable regulations, either through advanced training or online, so that the process of adding value to gerit products through packaging is carried out in a sustainable manner.
