Journal History

The OPSI Journal is a scientific journal published by the Department of Industrial Engineering at UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta. It serves as a platform for publishing scientific works and engineering research in the fields of Industrial Engineering, Industrial Systems, Industrial Management, and Information Technology. The journal is published biannually, with editions released in June and December.

Since 2017, the OPSI Journal has transitioned to an Online Journal System (OJS), making all issues available online at [http://jurnal.upnyk.ac.id/index.php/opsi](http://jurnal.upnyk.ac.id/index.php/opsi). This transition facilitates easier access, downloading, and citation of published articles by both authors and readers. OPSI Journal is indexed by Google Scholar, which contributes to increasing its citation count and ranking in SINTA – the Science and Technology Index by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) of Indonesia.

In August 2019, the editorial board was expanded to further improve and enhance the quality of the OPSI Journal.

Starting from Volume 12 No. 2 (2019), OPSI Journal adopted a new template and writing style. This change was driven by the journal's growing development and the need for stronger identity and consistency in its presentation.

OPSI Journal has been indexed in *SINTA 3* starting from Volume 11 No. 2 (2018), based on the Decree of the Ministry of Research and Technology/Head of the National Research and Innovation Agency of the Republic of Indonesia No. 200/M/KPT/2020 dated December 23, 2020, regarding the Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals for the 2020 Period III.

In Volume 14 No. 1 (2021), OPSI Journal introduced a new cover design, article template, and logo. This rebranding was intended to celebrate the journal’s SINTA accreditation achievement and to motivate its progression toward international accreditation.

Starting June 29, 2021, the OPSI Journal website began using English as its primary language.

Based on research and surveys conducted with OPSI Journal users, a new article template was introduced on September 18, 2023. The updated template was designed to better meet user needs and to establish a stronger journal identity, aiming to enhance usability and recognition.

In April–May 2025, OPSI Journal successfully migrated from OJS 2 to OJS 3.
