Plagiarism Policy
Plagiarism Policy
The Editorial Board of JABis (Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis) strictly prohibits any form of plagiarism. To uphold academic integrity, this policy outlines the standards and consequences related to plagiarism in submitted manuscripts.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism is the act of using someone else's language, ideas, data, or work—whether published or unpublished—without proper acknowledgment, thereby presenting them as one’s own original contribution.
Plagiarism Threshold
All submitted manuscripts must be original and not exceed 20% similarity as detected by plagiarism detection software. Any manuscript exceeding this threshold will be automatically returned to the author for revision or rejected, depending on the severity.
Types and Levels of Plagiarism
1. Minor Plagiarism
Description: Limited copying of short phrases or general background information without citation.
Action: A formal warning is issued and authors are required to revise and properly cite sources.
2. Moderate Plagiarism
Description: Copying of multiple sentences, paragraphs, or figures without proper citation or quotation.
Action: The manuscript is rejected, and authors are prohibited from submitting to JABis for one year.
3. Severe Plagiarism
Description: Direct reproduction of substantial portions of another work, including original data, results, or unique ideas.
Action: The manuscript is rejected, and all authors are banned from submission to JABis for five years.
Self-Plagiarism
Self-plagiarism, including submitting previously published work (in full or in part) without proper citation, is also prohibited.
- If the overlapping content isbelow 10%, it may be accepted with revisions.
- Overlap between10–20% will be evaluated based on context and may lead to rejection.
- Content reuse above20% is treated as a violation and will result in rejection.
Use of previously published material (text, figures, or tables) must be explicitly acknowledged, cited, and where necessary, permission must be obtained from the copyright holder.
Conference and Translated Papers
If a manuscript has been previously presented at a conference or published in another language, this must be clearly disclosed, including the name of the conference/journal and publication date. Authors must obtain proper permission and indicate how the current version is different or improved.
Unpublished Material
Authors may use content from unpublished works such as slides, presentations, or internal reports, provided they are original and properly integrated into the manuscript.
Editorial Process and Recordkeeping
The JABis Layout Editor is responsible for maintaining a list of authors with plagiarism violations and will ensure no submissions are accepted from blacklisted individuals. All detected plagiarism cases will be reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and handled in accordance with this policy.
This policy is available on the JABis website and is sent to all authors during the manuscript submission process. By submitting a manuscript, authors acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to abide by the JABis Plagiarism Policy.
