Publication Ethics

Publication Ethics

JABIS (Jurnal Administrasi Bisnis) is a peer-reviewed national journal that upholds the highest standards of publication ethics. This statement outlines the ethical behavior expected from all parties involved in the publication process: the author(s), the editor-in-chief, the editorial board, peer reviewers, and the publisher (Program Studi Administrasi Bisnis, Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik, UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta). This statement is based on the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE)’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

The publication of an article in JABIS contributes to the development of a coherent and respected network of scientific knowledge. It reflects the quality of the authors' work and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles support the scientific method and ensure academic integrity, thus it is essential for all parties to adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct.

The publisher of JABIS takes its responsibility as guardian over all stages of publishing seriously and is committed to ensuring that advertising or commercial revenue has no impact on editorial decisions. The editorial board also supports ethical communication and cooperation with other journals and publishers when necessary.

Duties of Editors

Publication Decisions

The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for deciding which submitted articles should be published based on the importance, originality, clarity, and relevance of the work. The decision is made while adhering to the journal’s editorial policy and applicable legal requirements, such as defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with reviewers or other editorial board members when necessary.

Fair Play

Manuscripts shall be evaluated solely on their academic merit without regard to authors' race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political views.

Confidentiality
Editors and editorial staff must maintain confidentiality on all submitted manuscripts, sharing information only with those directly involved in the review and publication process.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used by editors for their own research without the author's explicit written consent.

Duties of Reviewers

Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer reviewers support editorial decisions and may also assist authors in improving their manuscripts.

Promptness

Reviewers who are unable to review within the designated time or feel unqualified must notify the editor and decline the review.

Confidentiality

Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents and not disclosed to or discussed with others except with editor’s permission.

Objectivity Standards

Reviews should be objective and constructive, free of personal criticism. Reviewers should clearly express their views with supporting arguments.

Acknowledgement of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant sources not cited by the authors and alert the editor to any overlap or similarities with other works.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Information obtained during peer review must not be used for personal gain. Reviewers should avoid reviewing manuscripts where they have conflicts of interest.

Duties of Authors

Reporting Standards

Authors must present an accurate account of their work and its significance. The article should include sufficient detail and references to allow replication. Fabrication or falsification is unethical and unacceptable.

Data Access and Retention

Authorship of the Paper

Only those who significantly contribute to the research should be listed as authors. All listed co-authors must approve the final version and agree to publication.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Fundamental Errors in Published Works

Authors must promptly notify the journal editor if they discover a significant error and cooperate in retracting or correcting the paper.
